      The conclusion points out that left leaning shows don’t result in similar ideologically oriented marketing, because the left tends to get their recommendations from doctors, scientists and established fact checking journalists, while the right gets their information from these podcasters and YouTubers, because they don’t trust the establishment.

      I watch left wing content and wouldn’t watch Tucker Carlson or Joe Rogan with a gun to my head, but I still get ads that are explicitly right wing and push Ivermectin as a cure for „cancer“ (which apparently isn’t real), that tell me I need to buy home survival kits to prepare for the UN globalist apocalypse, that claim doctors are lying about what you should eat and only white nationalist themed meat sticks will save me, and that if I don’t buy this particular brand of gym shirt, everyone will assume I’m gay.

      I’m impressed how google has allowed Ads on YouTube to be so enshittified. All the ads I’ve seen are AI ads for some temu sunglasses or tactile jackets for men with some AI voice being like “my friends make fun of me for buying these kitchen knives. Now they all want one”

      I wouldn’t be surprised if the shit quality of ads is part of YouTube’s plan to get as many people paying for premium to avoid seeing them.

      Ublock Origin will block literally every single YouTube ad. I’ll never understand why people accept ads or pay money to avoid them.

      I just got one for fucking Prager U. I have YouTube Premium, and yet it still came up as a sponsored recommended video. Wtf.

      From a clean YouTube install on a device, with no log in or suggested content, my kids can go from Sesame Street to right wing, anti-Semitic grifters in 4 videos.

      I live in the UK and youtube was shoving Steven Crowder ads at me today. Nobody here knows who the fuck he is. I only know who the fuck he is because of him being dunked on for being a rw grifter idiot.

      I wish there was an option to tell youtube „Eat my balls, never recommend this piece of shit to me ever again.“
