Considering Ben Dreyfuss has happily confessed to paying homeless people so he and his friends could shoot them with paintballs in college, I wouldn’t talk to him either.
Am I the only person who feels like parents are not obligated to take care of their children, financially as adults? Of course, as children parents are obligated to provide, but once they become an adult, I don’t think that parent has an obligation to give the child money for their lifestyle.
It’s nice if a parent sets up some sort of savings, funds in an account for college or whatever but I don’t think that wealthy parents are necessarily obligated to give an adult child money.
I was a bellman at a 5 star hotel and was exited to check in Hooper as Jaws had been a favorite of mine for years. Checked him in to hotel, didn’t look at me despite my friendly demeanor upon his arrival and trip to his room, no tip at all. Mind you he’s traveling with two very heavy pieces of luggage. Two days later check out, cab to the airport, luggage in the trunk, cab door open. He gets in, stares straight ahead. I wait just long enough for it to get a little uncomfortable, and give Hooper one more shot at redemption, but absolutely nothing. What a tool. Doesn’t surprise me a bit that he’s estranged from his family. I could imagine him being an insufferable old bitch.
Wouldn’t be shocked if there wasn’t a lot of $$. It’s been a long time since R. Dreyfuss was a lead and he was never able to establish a successful tv series. Probably not destitute but the good years were quite a while back.
he’s not very wealthy in the hollywood sense and his kids sound like they are dicks like him. that and he blew most of his money in the 80s and 90s.
I also have no money from my mother who was a nanny and my father who dug basements ……shocking.
The 2023 interview he (Richard) did with Maher where he talks about incest and slides off his chair leads me to think he might be “erratic.”

Maybe his Dad had a crippling gambling addiction and gambled the kids home away or something, something other than these kids feeling entitled to their father’s money.
