There’s so many caveats it’s hard to keep track of it all. Here’s one that caught my eye:

I wonder at what point they’ll stop playing the Pathways charade?
Disgusting. Once again the misbehaving, spoiled brat of a province (Alberta) gets its way again. When are we ever going to end Alberta’s ridiculous free ride?
Well if the provinces support is needed then that’s veto. I dunno why they argue that. And if BC didn’t get a say then I’d be very concerned. The indigenous should also have a say. If they don’t then I may never vote liberal again, myself.
It’ll be interesting to see how these overtures towards Alberta alongside the CPC becoming increasingly dysfunctional under Poilievre will impact the Liberals in the next election. I doubt they’ll gain anything in rural Alberta, but there’s a chance this could lead to a noticeable gain in Calgary & Edmonton seats since urban Albertans really aren’t as enamored with the identity politics/culture war shtick.
They do have Bill C-5’s power, but I expect it to be challenged in court.
With the deficit BC is facing, there is a way to bribe BCNDP to support this in some manner.
Produce a proposal. Address the concerns. Find the private funding. Have the producers carry the unlimited financial risk. Continually improve technology to mitigate risk.
The Minister of Justice apologized for saying that First Nations would not get a „veto“ over resource projects.
Let’s see if this Minister says the same about the Government of BC, or if the position of this government is that certain racial groups have more rights over projects than do the governments of the provinces.
