It’s been rumoured for a while that she would be leaving politics to do *something*. I guess this is it.

Thank god she didn’t end up in a position in Canada where she could do more damage. On a positive note, she finally ended up in a place where she can do what she loves and giving all the money away is encouraged.
Good for her. She was an excellent MP and her negotiations of the CUSM trade agreement were superlative.
Doesn’t even really sound like a job, just a plush, easy-living gig for a plutocrat. Her only role is dolling out Rhodes scholarships. Ironic she started her political journey writing about how plutocrats were ruining life for the middle class and now she is off to England to live in a manor house in Oxford attending royal functions and basically doing nothing of any value.
This feels like a minor role for someone of Freeland’s experience and credentials, considering it was rumoured she was being considered for Secretary General of NATO earlier.
This is quite a step down for her career. Although at 57, maybe she’s realized the spring Liberal leadership was her last shot before the inevitable return of a Conservative government/s.
Wasn’t she suppose to be the Canadian Envoy to Ukraine?
Strange decision by her. A bit disappointing to be honest. Perhaps she will have the ability to do other things at the same time
