If you aren’t able to effectively use AI to supplement your own creativity and only think of it as a tool to replace you, maybe you aren’t a creative person.

Really don’t understand the knee jerk reaction to AI. I think there are intriguing possibilities to it. Especially in games like RPGs, having a chat bot type npc that uses the tech to spontaneously react in between set pieces sounds sick as hell.

This is an interview quote that kinda needs to be cleaned up with editing. The intent of the statement, based on context, is more like „Maybe AI seems like a creative solution, if you aren’t a creative person.“
So AI = Artifical Incompetence
Did you not read the article? He says he doesn’t mind others use of AI.
If anything he sounds very pro-AI. The pro AI side want people to use the tools that best work for them.
As much as a genuinely find their attitude virtuous. This *is* virtue-signaling.

If anything, an actual refreshing take would be an indie dev in favour of AI, since it’s a take that basically doesn’t exist.
If companies are no longer job creators, then I guess we have no incentive left not to tax them at 100%.

I mean, I appreciate this stands and all, but I’m not sure I’d call it refreshing. That kind of implies that it’s a rare take, and not like… the nigh-universal opinion of just about every single creative on the planet.
If you can be so easily replaced by this iteration of AI then you were not providing a creative solution in the first place. What all these folks are foaming at the mouth over is their low effort commercial design gigs.
The folks who are working in commercial design to help scam people into buying products losing their jobs to ai marketing hype is just beautiful. A deliciously ironic real world art installation of its own.
The thing I’ve learned about these AI posts is that reddit consensus does not align with the real world. Redditors have a habit of thinking they have some unequivocal moral high ground to shit on the mere usage of AI, which is hilariously against the inevitable progress of technology.
It’s possible to be creative and original and still utilize AI. That’s where we are headed, like it or not.
