    1. > The Oscar winner went on to say that she “can’t remember a time where I ever had an experience like that in the cinema, and it was shared.”

      > She continued, “When it was over, everyone applauded. I just kept thanking my husband over and over and over again because he had booked the tickets, like two weeks in advance, and I just couldn’t say anything else other than just like, thank you for that experience.”

I can see where she is coming from, OBAA was truly good cinematic experience

Makes up for when she turned off Phantom Thread after 4 minutes, presumably

And it would be just like the Oscars to snub it for Best Picture. Lol

2025 was so awesome for movies. There’s one like every week. I feel like Hollywood wanted to get back to work badly after Covid.

I think this movie is gonna be the one that really changes movie making going forward. To be so good, have a big marketable star, spend all that time and money on press and still not too well at the box office. Just a fundamentally broken thing now. We’re not that far from there just being big bullshit blockbusters and tiny little independents and literally nothing in the middle.

I cheered, raised my fist, laughed, flicked off the screen and cried. It was a wild ride to see in the theater.

It’s a very good movie but it doesn’t even crack PTA Top 3.

Edit: Ok… thinking again, maybe not Top 5 but definitely Top 3. There Will Be Blood, Magnolia and Boogie Nights are solidly better movies.

I agree, that film is masterclass and perfectly suited to America’s moment.

I watched this yesterday and told my wife that it was the worst Leo movie I’ve ever seen. Not just that, but a terrible movie.

I don’t think I can say that about any other DiCaprio movies. As they’re usually incredible.

I enjoyed it. Not sure if it was the best film I’ve seen, but definitely watchable. I splits the difference between Arlington Road and, say, The Big Lebowski.

The nuance and depth of the book did not translate to the screen. It was like National lampoons race relations holiday. Was such a let down when I realized it was a PTA project.

It’s fun but the best movie in the world hell no. But it is funny I like the black pSssy

It was a good flick! But I’m a big time rewatcher of my favorites, 10x on the low end for most and the list is massive- lots of yearly rewatches though. I have no real urge to watch this one again anytime soon. Maybe it was concise storytelling, maybe that’s something of an indictment. It’s just not one that I found nuanced enough to need to comb through details to pick up things I may have missed. I probably will rewatch it eventually but I’m not in any hurry.

I saw Pineapple Express in cinema with a bunch of potheads when it came out. That’s the best movie going experience I’ve ever had.

Boring movie harvesting low hanging fruit by pandering political bullshit message. By far and away Leo’s worst movie to date.

    17. Variable_Shaman_3825 on

It’s definitely the best film of the year. Don’t know about ever.

She isnt old enough to have seen jurassic park in a theater when it first came out. That was something that still lives in my brain.

    19. And when it streams on one of the services I already pay for I’ll watch it.
