This may be a developping story. Emails between people working for Pablo Rodriguez’s campaign (to become leader of the Liberal Party of Québec, which he did) **suggest voters were paid to cast their votes for Pablo Rodriguez**.

According to the Journal’s sources, these emails circulating between members of the Liberal Party of Québec have been an internal source of discomfort.

These news come in the same week as Marwah Rizqy fired Geneviève Hinse, the chief of staff. Hinse was close to Rodriguez. Rizqy justified her actions saying Hinse has made a «grave mistake» about the use of public funds. This may be another story, or maybe it is somehow related to Rizqy’s actions and how she acted.

    2. Great, at this rate we’re gonna have a third fucking referendum to waste everyone’s time (and money) because of this shit…

Suppose it was too much to ask of the Quebec Liberals to get their act together.

This means there is a secret slush fund. Quebec campaign finance rules are very strict (no more than $100 per person annual donation or something like that) and all spending has to be accounted for. That means they took the $100 bills from somewhere and it wasn’t their campaign fund. That may well be the next scandal to hit.

Also Legault will likely resign in the next 2-3 months so next year will likely be PQ vs CAQ (or whatever new name the new leader chooses to try to not be associated with Legault). Former Desjardins CEO Guy Cormier is apparently gearing up, and a lot of people want former ADQ head Dumont to run.

    4. I know there’s been a lot of doubts about Pablo’s chances of winning, perhaps the knives are out now that they’ve deemed him a hopeless cause and need a better federalist torch bearer.

Or perhaps the QLP is just incompetent and corrupt, could be either.
