      Probably should be. So far, my experience has been age discrimination after facial id.

      I love how everybody’s just watching the internet turn into one big data harvesting operation and is completely alright with it for some reason

      That is what instagram demanded when i tried to make an account. Instan banned it when i refused and deleted it. Not going to give that to some shitty ass app and the same would be with reddit or anything else.

      I mean we can’t even trust websites with a password, unless you’re my bank or mortgage provider it’s a hard no from me.

      I imagine this just forces more and more people to use reputable paid VPNs as the lesser of two evils. 

      I will be talking to my kids about the dangers of data and identity theft as a priority over not looking at boobs on the internet before they’re 18. Seems like a much more serious issue due to the high likelihood of teens/older less tech savvy person handing out their drivers licence or using an insecure vpn with a sketchy third party.

      This will be interesting as companies lose value due to losing revenue from the loss of user accounts as people delete them. Because that is what determines value now. User accounts is what they feed numbers to shareholders. But if people delete accounts..

      YouTube tried to get me to upload my ID to watch a clip from Family Guy. My Google account is 20 years old.

      It should work somehow like Apple Pay and not really transfer private or sensitive information. It can verify but not store them and then pass a yes or no at the web auth request. Every website I visit doesn’t need my info.

      these demands usually come from websites with the worst privacy. tiktok and meta consistently rank at the very very bottom when it comes to protecting your data, not only that but they are now intentionally harvesting every piece of your data they can get their hands on even outside of their websites, they don’t care about you, the gloves are off, they are demanding everything now. the good news is you don’t have to stay with them, there are better options out there, not all of these companies operate like this

      Yep I don’t like having to trust my bank with my personal information why do all these companies think I would want to trust them with it to maintain a entertainment source. A word to any company executives who need to hear it. Your service is optional and data breaches are forever. Many people will find something else.

      I lost phone access to my bank account in Cambodia because I would not accept the face recognition app.

      Any account that has existed for more then 18 years should be automatically exempt, if this is truly about child protection.

      I was denied payment at the shops the other day from using my phone to pay as I had left my card at home.

      Curve asked me to submit my face to Onfido real identity there on the spot or I coulden’t buy my eggs. Man I was so fucking pissed. Needless to say, I went home without eggs, they cannot have my face just because I was pressured, I have no fucking idea if their database is secure for a start, I don’t even know who they are.
