That sounds like a good idea – I wonder what the “unintended consequences” might be.

Might have a tiny effect on the level of gouging if people don’t realize they have to go to shadier, not-in-the-UK sites to get their tickets, but the resale market has always acted as an arbiter of supply and demand, which is basically impossible to overcome. Sadly Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing system is actually better because at least the product itself (the show, game, etc.) gets more benefit as opposed to a shady middleman.

Couldn’t someone just resell these tix outside the UK?

The number of “sold out” shows I’ve been to in the last few years that had hundreds (or more) empty seats across all different sections pisses me off when I know it’s the same situation for shows I really wanted to go to but couldn’t find tickets that were not outrageously priced.

I would really like to go see Iron maiden next year but $160 for the absolute last row, you know the kind where your back is against the wall of the stadium, at the highest level where I would not be able to see anything anyway It’s just a deal breaker.
