This is a weak defence
„Guys its ok for me to push a policy where we literally take valuables off asylum seekers because i get racist abuse!“
Clown show level deflection and genuinely cowardly as well, the lib dem MP correctly pointed out the fact she was using racist far right reform rhetoric in this policy push, so to turn around not really deny that but go „hey its ok for me to do this cause i get racist abuse (therefore implying she can’t be pushing racist rhetoric) “
edit- and we have conservatives (with Kemi Badenoch throwing her actual parties support behind this to stop a backbench rebellion) and reform mps backing this policy, you can in no way deny you are backing Tory policy or far right policy here
people are racist to her in the street, and that’s the fault of asylum seekers rather than the racists, apparently
It would be easier to feel sorry for her if she did policies that weren’t aimed at pleasing the sort of people that racially abuse her.
She’s such a sleazy pick me, I have very little sympathy.
Karmically you wish that getting this abuse would make her a more empathetic person, as she’s turbocharging her own racist abuse through her own policies but it’s also very patently obvious that nothing can make her a better person.
I think she is making it up. Unless, her husband wants her to be home early.
