      This is perhaps the only better picture to represent the current state of the country than the one we got last week with Trump scowling at the camera with that man collapsing on the floor.

      The flag is not blurred in the article… is HuffPo censoring their own thumbnails?

      So the flag was on such a crappy flagpole they were afraid a helicopter landing would wreck it, and so decided the best way to protect it from being blown around was to lower it and ~~tangle it up~~ **carefully store it in the fake plants** around the base?

      I know reading is hard for this administration, but the US Flag Code already covers what to do if wind is a problem. None of the suggestions involve just lowering the flag to let it flop around on the flowerbed.

      If this was Obama there would be no other scandal to talk about so this would take up an entire 24 hour news cycle. But with Trump it will barely be a footnote.

      Honestly it’s not as bad as when he called Veterans a bunch of suckers and losers, or when he said that the Medal of Freedom is better than the Medal of Honor, or when he used Arlington National Cemetery for a photo op and then one of his staff assaulted a cemetery worker when they tried to tell him he couldn’t do the photo op there.

      This is the guy that made flag burning illegal, that’s literally the way you get rid of the flag once it’s been desecrated. Any president that would’ve saw this should immediately either be removing it or calling staff to remove it. I bet he will even reuse that flag

      At the very least, the optics are awful. At best, he didn’t notice. Do I think he actually cares about the symbol of our nation on the ground like that? Not for a second.
