    1. The vast majority of globally known companies — Gucci, Prada, Armani, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Ducati, Barilla, Lavazza, Pirelli — are concentrated in the industrial North, especially around Milan, Turin, Bologna and the Veneto region.

    2. All I know is that De Cecco makes the best pasta you can buy in a supermarket

So that’s why the logo of Generali is literally Lion of Saint Mark. It was right there all the time.

This map is bad/old. Meridiana became Air Italy in 2018 and it failed in 2020, Tiscali is not even called Tiscali anymore, Alitalia became ITA airways in 2021 (part of the lufthansa group anyway), MSC has it’s headquarters in Switzerland, it misses all the banks and gun industries etc etc

The more north you go in Italy, the more you’re influenced by Swiss protestant culture as opposed to the South where it’s just catholics around.

For better or worse, protestants value money and individuality vs catholics valuing growth via community.

    6. This is what, the most valuable Italian brands in the 50s? Half of these don’t exist anymore.

The Italian government is richer than the whole of Russia and then some. It says more about Russia than about Italy. But still.
