I’d honestly be surprised if this ends up affecting cars. Vehicles tend to use older fab and chip designs due to being tried and true, as well as being better environmentally hardened.
I imagine AI is going after only the bleeding edge since they need speed and density.

A vehicle manufacturer would be smart to make a dumb car again. Something designed specifically not to need a bunch of tech. All the gauges and electronics, short of the entertainment in a car, could be done today without any modern chips.
