    1. If it’s going to pass then there’s little downside to throwing in with the majority. You get all of the positive PR of not being on the wrong side of that vote but you know the files won’t be released because it’ll be stopped in the Senate or even just by Trump himself.

The real question is if Trump vetoes how many of these same house Republicans would actually vote to overrule a veto. That would actually be taking a side with some consequence.

And if Trump ever leaves power, 100 or more House Republicans will claim they were against Trump all along.

When a republican starts forming articles of impeachment, I *may* start to believe they are beginning to push back

    4. alabasterskim on

Because they expect the Senate to ignore it or Trump to veto?

Would they override a Trump veto on this? Are they understanding now how supporting a pedophile hurts them?

That’s true if they actually had courage and integrity. But alas, they’re all cowards crippled with fear of a tv show con man convicted felon.

Yeah and millions of people could donate me 100$. But its not gonna happen

They have already been against this passing for months, don’t let their change of vote trick anyone into thinking it’s a change of heart. They don’t care about raped children, they are worried about reelection.

The cynic in me has too many questions.

Is this performative given Trump just launched an investigation on Dems with Bondi (evidence has to stay locked)?

Is it safe to vote, now sufficient time has passed to find and destroy evidence implicating Trump?

Where do the Senate Reps stand on this?

Or am I being overly cynical, and we are genuinely seeing the end of Trump?

300 votes in the House would put enormous pressure on Senate Republicans. They would be solely responsible for the coverup.

But they won’t and you damn well know it. They all *could* vote to surrender all their pay and end gerrymandering too but we dont live in a fantasy

    11. BardicWarrioress on

Big deal. it’d still need to pass the Senate then Trump would have to sign it

    12. Having to go on the record publicly changes things. They know the voters do about it.

    13. PolicyWonka on

219 House Republicans *could* vote to release the Epstein files. Any takers on how many actually will?

    14. The house will kick this to the senate and that’s where it dies like Epstein in his cell.

    15. When it happens it happens, before then it’s just talk, talkie talkie talkie

    16. If I ton of republicans vote for it I would be suspicious. Someone told them there aren’t any GOP in the files anymore.

    17. It is going to take a 67 vote majority in the Senate to override a Trump veto of the „Epstein File Transparency Act“.

This has always been a long shot.

What it will do however is get votes on the record for 2026 and further show just how far DJT is willing to go to cover this all up.

And then Trump will do everything he can to keep them from being released.

    19. Impossible-Glove3926 on

Doesn’t really matter, unless it is over 2/3 of the vote he is just going to veto it and then his sycophantic cult followers will just regurgitate whatever reason he gave.

    20. With overwhelming Republican support, the Epstein files will be released along with a cover page that says „Trump is Totally Exonerated.“ Trump’s fan base will accept this and not bother reading any of the rest of it.

    21. Slight-Rate7309 on

At this point, anyone who votes against the release will look suspicious.

We can expect a bunch more MTG 180’s the closer we get to the Midterm Elections…

    23. justsomebro10 on

It’ll pass the house. Really curious to see what happens in the senate though.

Every single politician should be against child rape. What a crazy America Trump has created.

    25. TheFalconKid on

The hope is a large enough group of Republicans vote for release in the house that it pressures a veto-proof majority in the Senate.

    26. Imagine you don’t want to be on the record as a “no” vote protecting the people in that list

    27. Ultimately, these **Epstein Files** votes will boil down to a clear, simple choice for the people ostensibly in charge of governing our country… it is this:

Make no mistake that it is our leaders must now publicly choose between these two clear, simple, and completely understandable options…

      (1) Vote to release: to hold to account ***anyone***, regardless of party, race, social standing, or economic class, responsible for abusing, raping and trafficking children… in order to stop or prevent any further such crimes.

      OR

      (2) Vote to withhold: to signal to you, and to the abusers, rapists, and traffickers that they can continue those activities… that they need not worry – the concealers have their backs, and approve of their behavior.

Write, call, or ask your representatives and senators for one word statements of their personal choices… don’t allow waffling, it’s a simple question… then tell your friends, family, and neighbors how they respond. **Anything at all** other than an enthusiastic choice of the first option above is a equally unambiguous choice of that disgusting, second option.

Trump’s medical condition will suddenly worsen and the best care will strangely be in a non extradition country.

    29. Any article about Trump that includes “could, would, may, might..”. I call sus.

The fact that Trump had the FBI supposedly removing mentions of him will be investigated right? I’m not entirely confident in the material that this corrupt clown show will eventually deem releasable
