It’s impactful, deeply moving,” said Chalamet. “As a young actor knowing you for your comedic work, seeing that thrown against the context of your other work, I’m like, ‘Wow, this is a fucking incredible actor. I hope I can give a performance like this.’”

      > Chalamet continued to compliment Sandler’s acting beyond “Punch Drunk Love,” stating, “I know it’s not about awards, blah, blah, blah, but you should have a golden man in your hand, because, man, you’re one of the best fucking actors of all time.”

He’s not wrong. Punch Drunk Love is great- and that was like decades before uncut gems- which is also great.

We seem to have a weird bias towards believing that being great at comedy means someone can’t be great outside of comedy. Adam Sandler is unironically a great actor. He just chose a path that lets him have fun and hire his friends.

His movies are okay, I can’t get over him donating $2,100 to Rudy Giuliani’s 2008 presidential campaign, I mean that dude is grime, good people don’t support that.
