Wow this is really touching… Appreciate the women doing this
It’s good to see more people acknowledging that men can and do suffer domestic abuse — it’s an issue that cuts across every demographic. But we also need to recognise that Ireland still has no dedicated refuge or shelter for men, leaving many with nowhere safe to go when they need help most. Support for victims shouldn’t depend on gender; we urgently need services that reflect that reality.

Absolutely so important there’s a huge amount to be said for basic support of men. This is actually the first time I’ve seen DV support for men in this country at all, and I’ve heard abhorrent things like „not all men but always a man“ and „physical p♂wer“ which are two „slogans“(not of feminism) that basically imply women cannot abuse.

Just had a look at the original NI thread there and the amount of people painting this as a bad thing is disturbing. Really goes to show why this type of thing is necessary, something as simple as a march against domestic violence is being vilified.

Great to see this, it’s really important to highlight that men also experience domestic abuse and that it’s okay to reach out for help. We need to have fair and supportive discussions for both men and women.
As a woman, I think it’s shocking that Men’s Aid only operates Monday to Friday. Women’s Aid is available 24/7, and both organisations should be run that way. Abuse doesn’t pause for the weekend.
