This waste is being generated and needs treatment otherwise it is being discharged raw into the environment when the system can’t cope. These systems are needed and vital to protect Dublin Bay from the vast amount of waste produced. This reeks of NIMBYism of the highest order. Like you need to build services for dense populations at least somewhat near them. The state of trying to build vital infrastructure to improve everyone’s lives in this country is pure mental, hopefully this project can go ahead.
In instances like this with strategic importance, the state should be able to bypass all this nonsense and just build.
Our country is in stasis where the few can cost the many.

Actually, if you read the article, I ‚think‘ they’re saying that the treatment isn’t of high enough quality, we need to improve the treatment facility, not to get rid of the pipeline
