Hat die US-Regierung schon immer dieses Maß an Geheimhaltung betrieben?

There was never transparency, but the majority of the people used to *trust* the government. At least not to be harming Americans or violating the Constitution.

For varying reasons, I do not know *anyone* who trusts the US government. 

Why would the sign be on the inside of the door.
