Nintendo sagt, es habe „keine Absicht“, Switch 2-Docks von Drittanbietern zu blockieren, nachdem ein Firmware-Update diese nicht mehr funktionierte

Might not be the main intention but still a very convenient side-effect for the manufacturer of official docks.
Par for the course of Nintendo. They usually do something to mess with a standard so that their stuff works flawlessly, but if you try a third party product, it doesn’t work.
It’s a firmware issue.
The way you prevent this from happening is you publish a spec for third parties to use when building them. I mean, they could also just use the standards everyone else uses too.

if your production plan keeps breaking third party accessories and you dont change that part of your production plan, you ARE intending to break third party accessories
Happy coincidence.
Isn’t it well understood it’s a firmware issue as it’s always been and fixes are incoming ?
Why is this story still being shared ?
No intention as of now, now that the update has already screwed them up
My first party dock failed yesterday. Took two hours to get customer service to accept it wouldn’t work. Just so happened to be my son’s sleepover for his birthday too, beyond pissed.
Had to send the switch itself too, won’t have it for 3+ weeks after he got hades 2 for his birthday so that’s cool!
I doubt Nintendo is intending to block third party docks *yet*, but thr fact they haven’t published information about how to make them, and haven’t used the existing specifications for usb c docks is pretty on-brand for nintendo. They should rollback the changes to their handling of docks so that the broken third party ones continue to function, and publish their spec to make this right. They won’t of course though.
Did you accidentally lie about your parent on summoning as well? Or just testing your new back pedal machine?
Yeah sure. I’ve seen printer companies brick third party ink cartridges multiple times. I’m sure Nintendo is willing to do similar stuff.
