I grew up in NW London and even in the 1980s there were loads of bomb sites.

Dang they really did have no clue about the RAF bunker at Uxbridge which coordinated the RAF response for 11 Group (SE England including London).
Key Command and Control centre completely untouched.

I had heard that East London was bombed the most. But this map shows that they could penetrate and bomb the center extensively.

My dad was 3 when the war started and lived just north of Ealing until the summer of ’44 when the vengeance bombings ramped up. Crazy to see the density.

What are those black dots near Waltham Holy Cross in the northeast? A forest or something?

Christ we got lucky in Edinburgh, 11 raids, 17 deaths.

The says the first bomb was dropped on 10/61940. Why does the title say from ember 1939? I mean, it is technically true, would have the same map when you start in 1919.
