Bitcoin vs. Gold – Teil 1

Bitcoin vs. Gold – Teil 2

Bitcoin or Gold? This actually made me think

    1. Neither. S&P500.

Gold isn’t bad to buy during boom times when it’s low, though, because people will irrationally flock to buy it when they inevitably feel unsafe.

Actually, Monero XMR, nobody knows that you have it or how much 🙂

    3. I think that both metals and bitcoin will play a role in whatever ecosystem ends up developing in our monetary future.

Simply put, most normal people will be buying bitcoin on exchanges and, as such, their transactions will be visible on the network and their wallets will be known by the powers that be. Future users of bitcoin will not be able to transact privately using bitcoin but will gain the other advantages that it offers.

Meanwhile, gold and silver will be used for transacting in privacy as physical metals cannot be reliably traced. You may not be able to send gold across the planet via a blockchain but your metal transactions aren’t documented for all to see.

In my opinion, they’ll both continue to be used and will serve entirely different purposes.

The gold connection is simply “a hedge profit vehicle”. It moves different than cash. Different volatility is valuable when one can be up and the other down to temper your portfolio from depleting from volatility and inflation.

Both valid in their own way. Flexibility of Bitcoin, being able to move any state or country with a cold wallet and stability of gold.

    6. If the Russians nuke your country gold is still working 24/7 even if there is no internet and or electricity.

If your government goes full rogue and starts to cancel the currency and ban cryptos, gold is still usable on the black market without any traces.

There is no potential undiscovered flaw in the algorithm of gold since it has none.

Nothing to be feared of a working quantum computer if you own gold.

On the other hand it’s difficult to store and a bitch to travel with.

So in the end, I guess it all depends if you’re an optimist or a realist…

Gold is a store of wealth if simplified right down. Gold is not an investment. Look at the average US house price over the last 100 years priced in gold, and it’s around 190oz. Yes there’s fluctuations.

    8. That quote isn’t even saying anything. It’s a weird appeal to emotion comparing gold to your ex to suggest that gold is somehow toxic? Are you posting this in bad faith or just easily tricked?
