Correction: VAC does not send cannabis to veterans. It provides a reimbursement for the cost. The proposed change in the new budget lowers the amount they will pay from $8.50 a gram to $6 a gram, reflecting the lower cost in the market compared to when the old price was set many years ago.
My message to the liberal government, have you gone to war in Afghanistan, have you been in fire fights, have you seen your friends get killed by enemy fire, do you have PTSD from the horrible shit you have seen and done because of war, we the soldiers who have served in Afghanistan and other shitholes, we have never seen a politician fighting beside us so do not take away our benefits that actually work!
Good , I know many that use this program and I also support it but it is also heavily abused and cost have drastically dropped for products .
Personally I have nothing agianst cannabis use , I use cbd/thc oil mix every night and have had great results.
But three grams a day is not healthy or productive for many of the ones using that amount .
The program needs to be revisited and revised .
3 grams per day of the high thc cannabis product that are available is a all day user , thats addiction not a treatment.
They’ll probably cut rates and compensation entirely soon with proposed budget cuts over the next 4 years. I’m submitting my VAC claim now before they gut VAC substantially.
This doesn’t bother me as a Veteran who uses CBD every day as much as some others. But like with everything I won’t speak on behalf of our community.
Worst I can see this doing is changing how much we can purchase from our suppliers with our current prescriptions per month. Obviously what will happen then is everyone will just up their grams per month they are prescribed if the changes negatively impact them. But wait and see.
