    1. Without even looking at it I can assume, that former empires are going to be first. And USA as a modern empire, that uses soft power and money to gather talents all around the world.

Hungary 16! I really admire our neighbors for this. I just can’t grasp how such a smart nation voted for Orban.

    3. Now, let’s see how many “Americans” happened to work in America and got citizenship to stay and work in America because Europe wants to be perpetually customer of America instead of having the brains, the tech, the infrastructure and the profit and the influence and control that America has because they choose to invest rather than buy a ready made product

    4. The Nobel Peace Prize atleast has turned into a badge of shame now. So many war criminals and terrorists got that „peace prize“.

2/3 from Lithuania are actually Polish, 2/6 from Ukraine Polish I could go on and on…

Does this include the fake Nobel prize i.e. „Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel“ which is not a genuine Nobel price?

Lets add this RoW abbreviation in diagram and not explain what it means.

    8. Crazy how huge the U.S. slice is 😅 Cool to see so many countries on the list though! 🌍

    9. Is there any reason as to why china has so few nobel prize’s even though it’s got a massive population? Is it because chinese scientists/researchers don’t go public with their findings?

It would be worth making a list with only Nobel Prizes in natural sciences, since Peace has gotten some harsh critiques lately, Economical isn’t even a real Nobel, and Literature is pretty different from the other ones.

Europe is truly the driving engine of the world’s development, 3/4 of *the „american“* Nobel Prizes are also Europeans. Every continent should be grateful to Europe, especially North America, which often demands expressions of gratitude, while in reality it is the one that should be grateful.

Im curious whats the number for the US if you only count citizens born in the US

    13. From what I remember around 40% of US Nobel Prizes have been awarded to immigrants working in the U.S. Not implying anything bad, just saying they did a great job providing great working conditions for scientists from all over the world.

    14. Would be curious to see the number per dollars spent on r&d by private and public sector.

This chart reflects the number of Nobel Prize winners. It does not reflect anything else, if you get my meaning. 🙂

    16. This is bullshit without contex, how come Poland has 19?

Skłodowska-Curie (x2), Tokarczuk, Szymborska, Miłosz, Wałęsa, Reymont, Sienkiewicz. That’s it.

    17. JasonBobsleigh on

Those numbers are completely wrong. Poland is credited with 19 Nobel prizes, but in fact only 9 were awarded to Poles, even if we count the fake economic ones.

    18. Accually in Poland everybody count 8 (7 people cause Maria Skłodowska had 2 prices). All the other people are born in or somehow connected with Poland like Begin or Singer.

Its kinda funny how americans wont show nobel prizes for each individual state which would make more sense. When it suits them, us is one big country, when you talk about fixing issues on invidual state levels, you cant because usa as whole is too big.

    20. How about people with double nationality? Reminds me an old joke:

A young herbew kid comes home after the 1st day at school :

      – Mommy,  why did children at school call me jewwy?
      – You see my son, they will call you jewwy in school,  they will call you jewwy in a university, they will call you jewwy during your PhD. But when you will win your Nobel prize,  you will become a Great Russian Scientist!

Herbew minorities in Russia were officially and unofficially discriminated a lot
