But seriously, the consideration for 空室税 (empty home tax) became serious now that foreign-buyer problem is front and center in the media. No one actually cares that 99.9% of akiyas are Japanese owned.
But if empty homes tax come into effect (it already is in Kyoto), then a lot more units will come into the market and help lower the prices.
