IMO, AOC takin‘ on Schumer would be a game-changer, dude. Dude’s been in office since before I was even born, LOL. It’s high time for fresh energy, bold ideas, y’know? So yeah, I’m all for that disruption.

Honestly… she’s been mostly consistent in her stances AND she’s under 60. Low bar, but here we are.

    3. If I were a NY resident, at this point I would nominate my old Halloween pumpkin to replace Schumer. Even by the time we get to 2028 it would *still* be a preferable choice.

She has matured a lot and is one of the clearest strong voices the Dems have

It might be an eye-opening experience for AOC to try to win a statewide election rather than just the 14th Congressional District.

If you’re running for state office, you’re going to have to appeal to a wider range of more diverse voters across the whole state, even in a solid Blue state like NY.

Schumer has been a has been for 12 years riding the coat tails of whoever’s a$$ he could kiss the quietest and still not end up with stink breath. He keeps exposing himself as the weakest leader ever and HE is personally holding the Democratic Party back

Get the Zionists and Israel supporter out of government. This is a great start.

Schumer is 75 and been a senator for 26 years; if he had any grace he would stand down. Unfortunately Biden and Pelosi have not been good examples for Democrats and they now need to bring in the next generation of politicians

    9. I’d prefer her there than some dumb white house bid.

Where’s the next ‚Master of the Senate‘. After seeing what McConnell was able to do to this country, I’d prefer her there wielding similar but opposing power..

    10. I’m fine with this, but it’s also not the position I want her to run for in 2028.

    11. Our politics needs a clean up of foreign money, interests and big donors. Schumer is all of those things. Bloated by the same donors and interests of the gop.

I don’t know, to me she seems wasted in that role. She would have to make compromises on several stances, to bring heads together.

Her strongest point instead is the ability to speak strong and clear, and put her positions forward no matter how radical they may look like in the current political environment. If you lose AOC in that role, you basically have no one effective enough to replace her.

    13. My guess is Schumer announces his retirement after the 2026 midterms. AOC might have an uphill battle to be the junior Senator from New York. She’ll need to not be toxic to the centrist/conservative areas of the state to win an open primary.

    14. If there’s a Ocasio & Newsom electoral ticket, I believe it would be a blessing for the people, for ordinary American citizens.

Chuck will be almost 80 when his term ends. It’s more likely he will retire and there be an open primary.

    16. Yes! We are not ready as a country for her to run for president. But Senator? Heck yes, get that dinosaur out of office already!

I don’t think she will have a chance to primary Schumer. Schumer isn’t running again, you can tell he’s phoned it in

The writing is on the wall for Schumer. This isn’t really even news this is expected. He will almost certainly announce his retirement 2027

I’m throwing a donation to her campaign as fast as I can as soon as I hear her running against him.

The problem is if she loses, she also loses her house seat. You can’t run for both. Katie Porter ran for senate, lost and now isn’t in the house either.
