      What? So we can fly the f-18s for another 10 years before they’re ready. This countries military and procurement process is a joke.

      If someone wants to make the case the Gripen is a suitable fighter for the RCAF to deploy in Europe or the Middle East to support NATO operations and those of other allies, fine. Make that case, historically we operated single-engine aircraft in Europe (F-86 and F-104) and twin-engine aircraft in Canada (CF-100 and F-101).

      But the F-35 is the wrong fighter for the NORAD mission and the Gripen is wrong for the same reasons.
