    1. I’ve linked to the news release in the post above. In this comment, for those interested, here’s the link to the peer reviewed journal article:

      From the linked article:

A new study suggests that visible physical aggression in popular online pornography has increased substantially over the past 25 years. This trend appears to be driven primarily by a rise in spanking, though the research also points to a smaller but significant increase in hitting and choking. The findings were published in The Journal of Sex Research.

My ex asked me to choke her after 5 years of being together. All of things made sense after she asked me

    3. Spanking is tricky in that it had to be removed from a family violence measure because it was found to be negatively correlated with the other behaviours.

Strangling and hitting not so much.

Every women I’ve slept with has asked me to choke, spank , slap or spit on them. I’ve noticed it’s a super common fetish among women. Obviously I’ve never done a study but my male friends do it to please their women and so do I.

    5. Wow the comments on this one are already disturbing. Confirms everything I’ve ever suspected about redditors.

    6. Years ago, a guy I was seeing slapped me in the face in the middle of sex. He found this totally normal and acceptable. I found it abhorrent. This is a conversation that should be had prior to engaging in any kind of sexual act. Today men find it perfectly acceptable to be physically violent during sex seemingly out of nowhere. I’m no prude and I enjoy porn, but it’s definitely gone too far.

I mean….yeah…. there wasn’t *that* much online pornography 25 years ago. Probably every type of kink or anything not completely vanilla was way less common in online pornography 25 years ago.
