Ok. „Viva la resistance“ I guess.
> So I’m glad that Demonschool’s developers have set the record straight, because using generative AI instead of genuine creativity shouldn’t become the new standard.
They used it for the voice lines for when you ping stuff like locations, such as “Let’s go to Space Travel”. What fucking creativity are we missing out on here exactly?
The way it’s used in this game is literally no different than text to speech, and nobody has ever had a problem with that.
Who the hell cares? I don’t understand the hate towards game companies using AI. Frankly, I’m all for it. Why? Because eventually AI will be able to generate custom games on the fly, and I won’t have to pay some greedy developer twice what a game is worth to have the game I want. I look forward to a time where I can sit down and tell my computer to gin up a „scifi military shooter about giant bugs“ and be playing a brand new game without having to hope some human developer can do it without screwing it up.
Instant gratification is worth far more to me than some game company’s profits.
Nexon defending AI gives me even less ability to be ok with AI. The company that gave us the least creative looter shooter that looks like it was created from top to bottom with AI and then adds in crazy cosmetic pricing is saying it’s all good. Yeah, Nexon should just be ignored on this topic.
The AI hate on reddit in particular is honestly quite funny.
hell yeah brandon get em
A tiny minority of Indie devs are using it, and mostly for cheap porn games. That was a pathetic attempt at trying to justifying your betrayal of your colleagues.
i understand the sentiment behind AI backlash but genuinely has become a black and white issue with absolutely no nuance.
it’s now any AI use at all is evil, and no use at all is good
