Good. They should. It’s dangerous for foreigners in the US right now.

I can’t imagine how awful the World Cup will be next year.

I am not setting foot in the United States again as long as the Republican Party is still a thing.

Trump being removed from office or dying is not enough. The United States would have to have a serious upheavel, in which the mentality that made Trumpism ever possible is utterly defeated for me to even consider crossing that border again.

I am talking…. thousands of people who protected Trump would need to go to jail for me to even consider it.

With no more actual due process, I don’t want my Canadian ass rounded up and disappeared to Nigeria before i can show I entered legally. Fuck that.

I don’t blame them if they continue to steer clear of us for at least another decade. And it breaks my heart.

Hope a Canuck never sets foot in Florida or Vegas, ever again. Fuck all reds forever.

Will of course resume drinking California wines (especially the reds) once the orange fucktart is sentenced for treason. Max the penalty please, eh.

This year a lot of people either paid for their vacation or put down a deposit on a place to stay so next year there should be worse for tourism.

    7. I have a handful of American friends who are great people, but I have no real reason to go. I have everything I need in Canada and there is a whole world to explore if I felt the need to go on a trip. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything.

Who wants to be harassed by thugs with guns, be detained, have your phone, luggages and vehicle searched because your pedo of a president holds a grudge over its closest neighbors? Nah fuck that I’ll stay home.

    9. You can count me out of visiting the States for the foreseeable future.

Even after the Orange Abomination croaks.

    10. Well, obviously! You guy have not taken care of the problems. Why should we come back?

To the good and sensible Americans who didn’t vote for this shit – I miss y’all and wish you the best in the years ahead.

    12. I work with tourism brands across the country and the numbers are bad (and going to get worse). We’re immediately feeling Canadians not coming because the booking windows are shorter but we’re starting to see other countries that have longer booking windows fall off.
It’s good though that people are still going to Canada from the US and the Canadians are as welcoming as always. I was in Ontario twice this year fishing and they were cool and welcoming as always.

    13. No trips to the States for me (mostly Hawaii) until the Fascists are gone. That’s between $10,000 and $20,000 per year going to Mexico and Europe instead. 🇨🇦

I got places visit that don’t pose an existential threat to my country’s existence. That aren’t ruled by people who fetishize the jack booted thugs that could arrest me and deport me on a whim for wanting to see Mickey Mouse. Come to your senses and I’ll consider it if you stay that way for more than a couple of years.

    15. I just got back from south FL and this time of year half of the license plates would be from Canada, counted less than 10 over 4 days.

    16. My family normally spends 25-30k vacationing in the USA. Not anymore. It is much more than just tariffs. It is the general attitude of your political leaders toward other countries and their own citizens. Fundamental changes have to happen before I visit again.

Why would we want to go to the US?

We’re not perfect, but we’re an actual democracy. We’re a first world nation that cares about the electorate, including the sick, the poor, the underprivileged. Where everyone has the same rights, where parents don’t have nightmares about school shootings, where children aren’t pawns in politics, where being a Nazi isn’t a source of pride, where society matters more than the individual, where billionaires aren’t idolized.

I’m (still) a dual national, with family in the US. They will have to visit if they want to meet, because I’m not going to set foot in the dystopian nightmare that America is becoming.
