We know what the solution is. It’s universal healthcare but the billionaire and opulent class are preventing this. So many of the problems and hardships in this country, the richest country in human history, would be solved by this. It would have positive effects on society that would reverberate for generations. For profit healthcare in the richest country on Earth is cruel and barbaric.

Forget normal, healthy people. Can anyone imagine Trump trying to negotiate his own health insurance?
To even suggest that type of a plan shows he has never actually read a health insurance policy, much less understood one.
No doubt the insurance companies would offer some base plan not worth shit that would cost whatever subsidy you receive from the government and then price gouge “upgrades “ that would still have high deductibles and out of pocket costs.
In other words you can bet the insurance co will get that government money from you for nothing.
There is no way this Republican government, who have hated ACA from the beginning because of Obama, would ever give every American the amount of money necessary to purchase a quality insurance plan on their own. The sharks (insurance companies) are smelling the blood in the water and are now planning how to take us all to the cleaners with high costs, no preexisting conditions coverage, co-pays, and deductibles, and less coverage. I can’t believe the Democrats caved.

So in effect, each individual is going to need to become an expert in the US healthcare system so they can comb through the hundreds of pages of legalis to ensure the insurance company hasn’t made a small change that dicks them around…
THEN that money that Trump doesn’t want going to health insurance companies will go to health insurance companies.
Sure insurance companies won’t negotiate with HUGE businesses that offer hundreds of thousands of paying customers, but they will totally ready to negotiate with millions of people on an individual basis.

So, we can liken his proposal to homeowners for quick problem identity. if we were to have homeowners develop a fund to be used to offset any losses.
Problem with this approach, costs may exceed the fund in the earlier years. And in the event of catastrophic event, the balance would not be able to absorb the cost of a home. So, you will have negative balances, potentially, if not those could even be allowed.
Now, the difference here is that with your car insurance and your HO insurance, the value of the property is the max of the policy, but with HC, have you seen what a transplant costs, or these GLP-1s? Not your copay, not your deductible: COSTS! Breaking an arm may exhaust the fund. Don’t have children and if you have a catastrophic event, which can be more common than you think, this approach is DOOMED!

So I get a set amount of money for health insurance and I’m supposed to negotiate my own terms in an industry I know virtually nothing about even though that industry knows exactly what I have available and will quickly figure out the best amount to take from each person to maximize profit, making my negotiation worthless because they’ve already factored in a percentage of people not accepting their unchangeable terms?
I’m sure this plan looked way better on the napkin it was wrote on this morning.
