      Every republican politician who claims to be Christian is only pretending to be Christian. Their religion has always been trump since 2015.

      Trump has mastered all of them Vance is still on the path to becoming enlightened.

      As an Xennial I do hereby decree that JD “couch fucker” Vance is excommunicated from the Xennial and Millennial Generations.

      We did not endure multiple “once in a lifetime” crisis for you to be a ladder puller!

      If any other generations would like to excommunicate please feel free to do so until JD Vance is soundly stuck in the “Orange Traitor” generation.

      Newsom isn’t wrong here, obviously, but it’s also kind of hard to take him at face value here when last year he was tearing down homeless encampments on camera with an huge grin on his face.

      JD Vance is no Catholic. Catholics believe in works, not words, as their evangelization. If Vance were a true Catholic he’d not only push for SNAP to be reinstated, but he’d also be pushing for environmental reforms, supporting unions, supporting immigrants, and money to support all mothers, including those who are now forced to have babies since RvW has been overturned.

      The Trump-Vance administration is denying those held in immigration detention access to communion and other Catholic services.

      If a Catholic actively denying one of the most important aspects of the faith to other Catholics isn’t grounds for excommunication, then I’m not sure what is.

      Is it just me or Catholic converts tend to be the worse Catholics? A lot of us fled from it growing up because we felt was an abusive institution with some redeeming qualities but these folks came here because of the former.

      I’m glad he is at standing up for what is right, but can we stop doing this nonsensical (very obvious) prop up of candidates clearly running for office. Everyday with Newsom and it’s getting to be very obvious. He is a nepotistic trust fund kid who partied at French Laundry while he locked the state up for twice as long as other states. He is not the candidate that will win in 2028. I primaried for Bernie twice, I voted for Hilary and Kamala— I did what I needed to and I support the causes that I feel matter: taxing the billionaires, universal healthcare, basic rights for all people of any gender or sexual orientation, etc etc but this very clearly, obvious misstep needs to be corrected. ANOTHER neoliberal who thinks it’s “owed to them” will give us whatever horrible monster comes from the death of the Trump cult. If you want to ACTUALLY win the country/presidency the name recognition alone will sink Newsom in red states, the “commiefornia” brand (I live in California: this is obviously stupid, but many many Americans feel this way), and his all-around business-smarmy look will absolutely not win American votes. The guy wife swapping with Don Jr is absolutely not the guy to “right the wrongs”. It’s LITERALLY the same thing as Trump proclaiming he’d “drain the swamp”— now I’d trust Newsom with a hell of a love more than Trump but can we find actual progressives with decent backgrounds for middle-America…. mark Kelly? The idea that a milquetoast centrist (nephew of Pelosi— so more dynasty stuff, yay) is going to help us is ridiculous.

      As a Catholic, one of the missions I truly believe in charity to those less fortunate than yourself. Anyone who who doesn’t believe in the mission of serving the poor is a not a good catholic and a false Christian.

      Once again, I’m reminded about how high profile Vance is for a vice president. Is Trump not feeling well, or are the polls telling unpopular Trump to take a backseat to Vance? Anyway, good on Newsom for calling out the religious hypocrisy.
