Haha can’t wait for them to have their inevitable Enron moment and they realise that AI is and always shite and can’t replace the fieldwork and junior or semi senior can do.

So, no overtime work… right?
What’s the bet they will report record profits in a few months and a huge bonus for senior partners.
In the UK, it’s a different entity to the one in Ireland.
I don’t know how many other countries in Europe but Ireland doesn’t have a law for overtime pay. If you ask me this is a shame.

Worked in the IT consultancy practice of a large accounting firm back in the day. Thrown on project as part of a rescue team. 9 weeks without a single day off – worked 114 hours one week. I was fresh out of college and didn’t know any better. I recognize the exploitation for what it was now. I had severe burnout after that stint. SOP for these warts of companies. Very few stuck it out to make it to the executive level but those that did were typically 24/7 corporate players.
Wait until they here there has never been paid overtime for busy season in Ireland….
Being an ex-Big 4 I genuinely have no idea why this is a story since we never ever got paid for overtime work.
The standard from January to May was booked for 50-60hr per week jobs, you often worked over that but we’rent allowed to bill for that time.
The reward was your overtime was considered time in lieu you could use for annual leave, except the leave was for exam study so it wasn’t like you actually got any extra annual leave realistically.
It was shite being in it, but far as I know that’s just how these firms have always operated.
As an industry trained CIMA accountant with over ,29 years experience, I am always amazed why young graduates put the Big 4 firms up on such a pedestal.
