But people mostly aren’t stealing essentials. They’re stealing stuff with high prices per kg for resale. That’s more indicative of people generally wanting/needing more money than grocery store prices particularly being too high. It’s the expensive cuts of meat getting alarms slapped on them and alcohol being locked up around the clock. Most nicotine pouch stores are locking up their products these days too.
