Various news sites reporting on this, and there does seem to be some credibility as various experts are saying his absence is unusual.
What was the general take on Lavrov? I’ve seen him described as the slightly more rational one who keeps Putin in check, but the on the flip side being blamed for Putin’s hard-line refusal to make any concessions to ending the war.
Essentially, if he has been ousted, is this good news or bad news?

Would be a crazy move if they shifted him aside, Lavrov has been a huge figure in Putin’s Russia would open up so many questions about why and who would replace him.

With the way information is controlled in Russia this could be anything from him taking a week off due a family emergency right up to him being assassinated after a plotting a coup.

Lavrov is 75 years old and doesn’t really look to be in top form, so maybe it’s just that.
He should be fine. He is like top 3 closest „friends“ with Putin for over 20 years. And he is well respected in Russia. Putin would be on his last days (i pray) if he would kill Lavrov.
