The MNDAA is the Myanmar Nationalities Democratic Alliance Army. Despite the name, most of their members are ethnic Han Chinese. They, as part of the 3 Brotherhood Alliance, started Operation 1027 in 2023 as part of (among other stated goals) to wipe out pig butchering scam syndicates that kidnapped people and killed undercover Chinese police. Their actions in capturing Laukkai indirectly led to the arrest of [local ](https://www.scmp.com/news/china/politics/article/3331490/chinese-court-gives-death-sentence-myanmar-crime-syndicate-boss-bai-suocheng)[bosses ](https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c78nrx309kzo)of these syndicates (who were also former junta leaders).

The 611th Brigade was a unit made up of members from other anti-junta groups such as KNDF, BPLA, and the new PLA of the Communist Party of Burma.

Ultimately, the unit dissolved and the [MNDAA stopped fighting the junta in 2025](https://www.irrawaddy.com/news/burma/mndaa-hands-lashio-back-to-myanmar-junta.html). The aforementioned groups went back to their home regions to utilize their combat experience.

Edit: The Chinese government ultimately supports the junta while the CPB PLA primarily get their weapons from other rebels and arms smugglers. The few MANPADS the rebels have overall are from old Chinese stocks scattered among groups.
