The 10-15 number is notable.
Only a few weeks ago, 5 MPs told Radio-Canada they have doubts in his leadership. It appears that the events of this week may have seen that number grow.
Our government has serious serious problems. We are watching in real time as we go from having multiple viable parties to essentially a 1 party system. It’s tough to watch as a citizen who desires change and healing.
It’s a mess of his own making. If you won’t negotiate changes to the budget in good faith, often against the wishes of members of your own caucus, then you shouldn’t be surprised when they start going to the members directly. That’s politics. When you play hardball you can hurt yourself just as easily as the other side, so it had better be worth it when you try.
Who is the source? We’ve had a ton of misinformation being published and thrown around lately to the point where MPs have had to come out and deny things. A lot of wild speculation.
I would wager it’s because their leader shat the proverbial bed and squandered the most generous political lead in recent memory in the most spectacular fashion by refusing to read the room when Canadians were uniting against the looming tariffs.
Or something like that.
