One good thing about PP is that he just keeps learning lessons. It’s an incredible achievement because he can perpetually learn while he’s in opposition and never become PM.
After losing the elections, losing his own seat, and now losing an MP, if Pierre Poilievre is surviving his leadership assessment, it would be the final proof that the Conservatives are now a cult and no more a real political party.
We need a serious discussion on how having such weak opposition parties is not healthy for our democracy.
I’m worried the CPC is losing its reach throughout Canada that’s not in its base, at this point they might as well bring back the reform party and be the populist party it wants to be.
All these parties are far too extreme now while the liberals are doubling down on the Neo liberal approach without any organized opposition.
I hope we see a new approach from the CPC and someone strong from the NDP and quickly.
I think we are at the end of the party system. I think a system of independent representation where every representative answers only to their electors, free from party discipline and corporate alignment would bring back equality, and a balance budget. I understand a long time ago when we sent reps to the capital and information was very slow to get back to the district, parties made sense.

This is a terrifying thought. In an era of hyperpolarization, you have one party striking fear into its members reaching out across the aisle.
This is the Trump way, it is the PP way.
