Even 3rd world dictators are not as brazen about their corruption as DJT is. I swear to God, this is the most dystopian timeline in American history.

    2. He is so corrupt and not even hiding it. He more than likely got a piece of the company and others when he makes these so called deals

    3. I think it’s important to at least distinguish that Trump said

      >give the United States a nice big chunk of the company

Sure, he thinks of himself and his interests as being those of the USA. And he’s certain to use his power over the US „golden share“ and other equity investments in companies like US Steel and Intel in ways that will benefit himself and his allies personally.

It’s gross how something that could be a very good thing– government-negotiated flat prices for popular drugs– end up looking like a personal shakedown by a mobster when Trump is involved.

I bet trump could shoot someone and get away with it like he claimed.

He invited them there because he wants them to produce medications for his TrumpRx.

    6. All these fanatical Republicans screeching about the evils of Communism as NYC elects a Social Democrat mayor, while pulling the wool over their eyes to the blatant Marxism happening right in the Oval Office. Truly mesmerizing to witness.

The increase in brutal honesty from Trump aligns with his dementia. As dementia gets worse, the filter gets thinner and thinner until they just start spilling whatever comes to mind. The only reason I know any history about my grandma is because when her dementia got worse she started telling me all the secrets she hid her whole life and why – in her native language no one knew was her native language

    8. Thats a very communist and marxist act for a president to do, of course, he would say the US would be the part owner, but before leaving office would most likely transfer ownership to a separate entity that is owned by multiple shell companies that ultimately end with a Trump name after sifting thru all the fake businesses

Weird that a leader who labels his political adversaries communist and Marxist would ever commit such a hypocritical thing /s

Just the president asking for a bribe on national TV in the Oval Office. What a prick.

And here we are complaining about China owning TikTok. Trump wants to own all these companies.

      How does this even end?

I’m hopeful for no quarter. I don’t know it’s hyperbole, these are enemies of the state in charge of the state.

I don’t know how anyone can be both American and support this authoritarian regime. Those that are laughing now won’t be in 14 months.

Government shouldn’t be a joke. Just because you say you have common sense doesn’t mean you actually have it. And the non-stop lies. It’s like dealing with a toddler.

If democrats ever come into power they need to go nuclear on all these kleptocrats. Take EVERYTHING from them.

    13. He’s been openly engaging in all manner of crime for his entire life and there have never been any significant consequences. He thinks he’s invincible because he is. What has happened that would make him think differently?

    14. The right will call a pretty mild Democratic Socialist a „Marxist Communist“ while their leader is demanding companies sell themselves to the federal government almost at gunpoint.

    15. >It’s unclear how serious Trump is about asking for a piece of the pharmaceutical giant, but his government has already taken [stakes](https://newrepublic.com/article/200025/trump-state-capitalism-intel-steel-democrats) in several [American companies](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-administration-now-holds-stakes-023008085.html), including U.S. Steel, Intel, Trilogy Metals, Lithium Americas, and MP Materials.

      LOL.

He’s partially nationalising companies. Where are the people screeching about commie governments owning the means of production now?

    16. Extra-Ad5925 on

They were so mad about Mamdani but government control of companies is about as textbook socialist as it gets.

    17. It is more than a little ironic that the Republican party, which champions capitalism and has vehemently denounced socialism and communism, is now advocating for government ownership of corporations.
