Putin nennt die Taktik des Westens ein „gefährliches, blutiges und schmutziges Spiel“, aber er projiziert. Es ist das Spiel, das er spielt.

The west relying on disinformation? Impossible…
Clickbait.
There is no one even close to the proficiency in disinformation Russian (and earlier Soviets) posses.They’ve been masters of it since imperial times and have been better at ‚dirty games‘ than any other country.
If anything, other countries are starting to learn from them. You can observe that for example, and it is very apparent, how the current administration in the USA is using similar techniques to Russian propaganda efforts.
The goal is to create complete chaos in the information space, so that normal people have great difficulty in discerning truth from lies. This is done for example through completely ridiculous statements (invasion of Greenland, incorporating Canada as the next state). It gives the government a huge advantage, because on one side you have people who believe everything their leader says, and on the other opponents who don’t accept official propaganda, but, eventually stop caring and become apathetic.
