    1. “ President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine will not accept a second-tier status in the European Union and must be treated as a full member of the bloc once it is invited.”

I agree. Once invited, they should be held to all standards and once they fulfill the requirements they are a full and normal member. It is the only way Europe can function. Is it going to be easy? No. But it will be beneficial for all in the long term.
As all nations in the European Union have experienced over time.

If they want to keep using Ukraine as a buffer state, they kind of owe them something at this point.

Full member by 2030? Yeah, that’s not happening. It took eastern bloc countries 10 years to do it and that’s without fighting a war of survival

Maybe taking a break from offending every possible ally and dismantling anti corruption agencies would accelerate accession more than loud demands.

    5. All this shitz for a membership of EU and NATO and still get treated as second class lol. Ukrainians should have known better

Maybe don’t support Azov and Bandera and you’ll get one step closer 🙂

I am an Australian / American currently resident in Ukraine. I am vehemently and stridently a supporter of Ukraine and want Ukraine to be accepted into the EU ASAFP.

However. It would be dishonest to say that Ukraine does not have a serious problem with corruption. It is completely endemic to the way of life, so much so that most Ukrainians think that it’s normal, and just how you get stuff done in Ukraine. While I have seen major positive changes recently, the number of extortion attempts and bribe requests boggles my mind. In fact just last week I had to involve a local prosecutor to have a quiet talk to a government agent who was trying to extort me just to do their job.
