      That food looks terrible admittedly but fucking hell, why is someone from Trinidad, a regular holiday destination for Brits, claiming Asylum?

      The article says the dad died due to gang violence but I’m really not sure this is a valid enough claim for Asylum? Surely that’s a matter for the local authorities.

      So in other words, they’re not refugees and they’re not asylum seekers. Unless there’s a vicious civil war and genocide in Trinidad I and the rest of the world have been blissfully unaware of. Seems like a slam-dunk case for deportation?

      There’s a lot missing here.

      Not least of all, if her son was accepted into an academy, and the issue was lack of nutrition, they’d sort that out given their potential ROI is massive.

      Reputable academies for big clubs also provide resources for vocational education, etc., for those that don’t make it.
