The eagle (in general) is the German insignia, still in use today.

However, there’s only been one time in history when an eagle carried something below in his claws. And that was during nazi germany. It was the swastika.

In this case the swastika is replaced with an iron cross.

So obviously someone not shy of showing his nazi colors.
