I get why they’d do this, but I do wish that judicial salaries were somehow handled in a less partisan way. Judges make a crazy amount of money.. but that’s just how much high calibre legal professionals cost.
You don’t want to be having to pick “B-“ lawyers to become judges because all the “A+” lawyers want to do other things that pay better.
