Keep forgetting how top heavy the Earth is and how empty the southern hemisphere is.

    3. The most interesting part here is how little land on Earth is closer to the South Pole than to the Equator (decluding Antarctica)

    4. The 45th parallel runs directly though my city, Minneapolis, however, the majority of the city, and myself, are south of it. Since the earth isn’t a perfect sphere, I’m not 100% sure if I’m closer to the equator or the North Pole, though. 😉

I live on the Tropic of Capricorn, in South America. Where does that put me?

I’m likely living closer to the south pole than everyone in the comments. But I’m still closer to the equator than the south pole. The southern tip of South America and the south of New Zealand are the only places closer to the south pole that outside of Antarctica

I don’t think a rotating 3D model of Earth was necessary for that

Population north of 45°N should be a couple hundred million.

Population south of 45°S maybe 1-2 million.

North Pole for me, along with the rest of my state (which is not Alaska).

Doesn’t show Lake Michigan so I have no idea if I’m closer to the Equator or the North Pole.

I’m Minnesotan, you can’t convince me I’m close to the equator while dealing with -25F temps.
