I heard them talking on the radio about this saying it will bring unjust hardship on these families. I can see their point but at the same time the government is putting all families in Ireland under unjust hardship.

I mean, it is perfectly fair. It’s one thing if they cannot support themselves, but the moment they are in employment, they should be asked to contribute to their own upkeep.

Why is this only being considered now (within reason).
Teenagers with their first job often make some household contribution.

For those who are gaming the system and are purely economic migrants, they have a savage deal, free digs, food, doctor etc
Basically zero expenses and they pocket everything they earn.
Perhaps allowing these people permissions to work was a mistake, and is actually part of the problem.
