Man.. I remember when nVidia was just doing pre-shader register combiners for videogames.

It’ll be interesting to see how this works out for him, these chips are a global effort that requires input and support from other nations to work. That’s why China hasn’t been able to catch up, and how the US could lock them out.

China is already on their way of developing competing chips. Not nearly as advanced (for now) but enough to get rid of American chips eventually.
That’s ok, they are being superseded by analogue GPU for AI anyway.
