EU-wide defence initiatives have become much more numerous since Kubilius became the defence commissioner, which is obviously welcome. It shows how having someone from a frontline country at the helm can boost momentum.

But I’m disappointed to not see expansion of nuclear deterrence in this list, and instead to see the upholdment of the status quo that Eastern Europe is of lower value than Western Europe and is worth defending only conventionally. That increases, not decreases, the risk of invasion.
