    1. China’s shitty… No doubt. But coming from any Trump official, being sanctimonious about being an unreliable international partner is pretty rich.

In fact, I think China is very reliable. It does what it’s best for China without any rrgard for anyone else.
But at least it’s upfront about it.

    3. As someone from Canada. I would say China is usually at least in terms of trade are reliable, but they will retaliate through trade as well. With that said there is probably other reasons not to fully trust China though, stuff like them having weird secrete police in our country, stealing technology, election interference. Honestly not the greatest that we are moving to make them bigger partners for trade, but it’s not smart to have both the US and China not being trade partners in our current state. Long term this is ganna mean Canada will not be able to stand with the US on there random policies, because there will be retaliation and it’s not ganna be worth it of there is enough dependency on trade with China.

The US would’ve been smart to tighten ally connections instead of destroying them but here we are.

„I’m actually Chinese myself“ Bessent probably after looking at the Chinese restaurant menu

Unlike us with an orange turdstain spewing nonsense on a daily basis…

    7. What I might most humourous here is that his Chinese counterpart likely wouldn’t go around labeling others as “unreliable”.

Oh please… The US no longer has partners. Under Trump everyone is a mark to be exploited. You have to wonder if Bessent believes his bullshit or if he is as stupid as Trump.

The US: We’re canceling our trade agreements unilaterally because we dont feel we should have time commit to them.

Also The US: China is an unreliable partner.

No shit Sherlock. Been that way since “reform” (lol) and “opening” (also lol). Fuck the CCP.

The US President violated a trade deal he negotiated, that he had previously called one of the best deals in history, only to then call it one of the worst deals in history.

You can’t get more unreliable than that.

    12. China has benefited greatly from the abundance of globalism, while simultaneously breaking the globalist social contract by failing to liberalize and open itself up to the world as the world has opened itself up to China.

Not only has the developed world invested heavily in them, but they’ve turned a blind eye to China’s rampant, dishonorable disregard for intellectual property laws, not to mention their genocide of the Uyghurs and Tibetans.

China has one of the lowest immigration rates in the world. There are fewer foreign born people in all of China than the city of Berlin.

We can’t keep playing this game of open, globalized free trade with a selfish, low class participant like China, especially when their power threatens to eclipse the United States that polices and holds the whole system together. This is why the United States and others are starting to defect from the game.
