This California resident is very pleased. The primarily very red Redding area will now be part of the blue coast. Redding and Mt.Shasta has a lot of pockets of militia members hiding out in them there hills. One was caught heading to Humboldt’s Courthouse armed to the max a few years ago.

    2. For once I’m glad Arnold Schwarzenegger is no longer relevant (he rallied hard against Prop 50).

Voters signal displeasure with trump??? Displeasure is something I experience when I get constipated. I would describe trump as far worse than that.

    4. Its a shame that the state with the fairest distrcting process has to change due to other states bending the law. That being said, I did vote yes.

    5. I just like how this will most likely force SCOTUS to make a ruling. If Texas can do it so can California. Or, neither can do it.

    6. Quote in the article:

      >“Republicans just did not cobble together the resources or the momentum to stop it.”

I don’t think Republicans *really* wanted to stop it. They certainly want to appear that they tried, but they barely funded the campaign against it.

The reality is that if both parties go nuclear and gerrymander *all* states, Republicans will dominate the House. They played the long game and they have more governors and state legislatures.

And it will be a *lot* easier to do that if they pretend they’re victims just retaliating against democrats. Does it make sense, given that democrats were just retaliating for Texas? No. But most conservative voters live in a completely different reality at this point. With just enough truth that California *did the thing*, they can whine and start the mass gerrymander battle.

I’m not anticipating anything good coming of this, if anyone can’t tell.
