The Democrats folded when they couldn’t look past Sanders‘ persona to see his policies. At this point, every American is getting what they deserve. Suck it up.
To my knowledge there hasn’t been signs of defections to get the budget passed outside of fetterman who *sigh* is the nicest thought I can have about him. They’ve backed plans to try to force the Trump admin to use the SNAP rainy day fund to extend benefits as long as possible. And with Trump pushing fir the nuclear option to pass these cuts there is zero reason to believe they will crack since that option puts all the pain solely on the GOP for passing things.
I get this sub tends to lean further to the left and views anyone to the right of AOC as the enemy but the facts on the board don’t point to a deal being passed especially now that we’ve crossed the snap benefits line. The next real challenge that could push it would be right before Thanksgiving where both the holiday travel and thanksgiving meals will be at risk.
I hope this fraught time lingers in the brains of voters, when it comes time to choose in the 2026 mid-terms.
